Each kilometre which Fiona completes will be marked by a bright new pom pom on a colourful display outside Fiona's Ribchester home. For this week's back to school week Fiona , a maths teacher,is adding a mini maths quiz to the display. She said: "It will be what's the fraction in red? How many are blue?Just to generate a bit of interest. Janis always wanted to be doing things. It's just a focal point really. It's my kilometre thermometer."

Fiona continued: "Janis's business was known by everybody in the village. It's so sad. We are going to miss a massive character. I just wanted to do something that could involve people and just remember Janis."

She added: "Our family motto is everybody needs a Janis. "

Fiona's display also includes photos of Janis.
