The Cabus Players return to the stage next week with the humorous Party Piece by Richard Harris.
Described as an English sit-com where you don’t know whether to laugh or to cry, it promises to be an entertaining production.
It is to be presented in Cabus Village Hall at 7.30pm from Thursday, April 24 to Saturday, April 26.
Tickets, priced at £6, are available from Billington’s Electrical and Cabus News or can be reserved to be picked up at the door by calling 01995 605608
A percentage of the group’s ticket sales are donated to local charities and this year the Cabus Players are supporting Croston House.
Players’ chairman Rob Knowles said the play had presented a particular challenge to the back-stage team. “The scenery builders were challenged to produce a set which situates the play in the tiny back gardens of adjoining terraced houses, complete with two garden sheds. This was no easy task on the relatively small stage at the village hall ,” he said.
“The two gardens are separated by a virtual 6ft fence, which has to be cleverly represented to ensure that the audience can still enjoy a clear view of the action in both gardens.”
