Police appeal after spate of car break-ins

MOTORISTS are being warned to keep their cars secure after a spate of car break ins along the A6.

Cars parked at Guy’s Thatched Hamlet in Bilsborrow, the Boar’s Head and the Sparling at Barton were all targeted by offenders last Thursday.

The opportunistic thieves broke into the boot of a car on the Guy’s car park early evening on January 26 and stole a case full of tools.

It is understood the thieves then drove up the A6 and attempted to use the tools to break into the boot of a BMW parked at the Sparling restaurant but no property was taken.

The tool box was later recovered in the Boar’s Head car park, where attempts were also made to break in to another car.

PC Simon Jones, of Garstang Police said: “We are appealing to any members of the public who may have noticed anyone in any of the car parks or may have seen anything suspicious on the evening to contact us.”

Anyone with information should call Garstang Police on 01995 607869 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
