POLICE are appealing for witnesses after thieves tried to steal a cash machine from a post office in Bilsborrow.

Around 1am on Sunday (February 27) four men in a black Ford S-Max reversed up to the front door the post office on Garstang Road.

One of the men got out of the car and managed to get inside the post office.

A second man then entered the premises and tied rope between the ATM machine and the S-Max. The car was then driven forward pulling the cash machine through the front door and out onto the street.
