POLICE are appealing for information after high value fishing equipment was stolen from a residential garage in Hambleton overnight on Tuesday, March 29.

The burglary took place at an address on Rydal Road sometime between 10.30pm on March 29 and 6.20am on March 30.

The offenders have gained entry to the garage and turned on the light before selecting numerous items of fishing equipment valued in excess of £5,000.

The equipment included fishing rods and sundries, a tournament box, venom pole, Daiwe Morfus whisker, reels and landing nets.

Sgt Steven Bell from Wyre police said: “It is likely these premises have been deliberately targeted and I would urge anybody with any information about this burglary to come forward and contact police.

“I would also urge the fishing community to be vigilant and to report any suspicious equipment being offered for sale.

“Given the volume of equipment taken the offenders would have needed a vehicle so again I would ask anyone that saw any vehicles acting suspiciously in the area around this time to call police.”

Anyone with any information should contact police on 01524 63333 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
