Portly grandad wins slimming pill fight

A company which charged a portly Garstang grandad £112 to help him lose weight is to be barred from advertising in Britain.

The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled against the company after the 73-year-old man complained the pills failed to work.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, responded to an advert for appetite suppression capsules to try and lose weight he had gained as a result of the anti-cancer injections.

Full details of the ASA’s adjdication over the complaint are to appear on the authority’s website within the next few days.
