Blitz owner Peter Alexander applied for his Lords Walk club to sell alcohol until 4am each day, with a 4.30am closing time and a licence to play live music until 3am.

Councillors had already thrown out a bid to open until 6am, and police had again objected against the revised plans.

But Preston Council’s licensing committee voted to allow the new timings for the club, which moved from its former Great Shaw Street premises to make way for its demolition.

Peter said: “We are extremely delighted with the result.

“We are really grateful to Preston Council and Lancashire Police for their time and consideration of our application.

“We are extremely pleased we were granted the application and we look forward to getting Blitz back open again.”
