A group of pupils at Garstang Community Academy have completed their final qualifying expedition for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
The 38 pupils are the first in five years to take on the programme and for the final leg of the challenge embarked on a weekend adventure in the Lake District.
They had to walk a total a gruelling 15 miles over two days, carrying all their equipment, including tents for the camp.
They planned their route, which they had to follow and successfully navigate their way along.
A spokesperson for the school said: “This has been a tremendous first group lead by dedicated and enthusiastic staff.
“We look forward to starting the next group in January.”
