Rally ace Neil’s talk will mark motor club’s 50th anniversary
Garstang and Preston Motor Club is inviting motorsport enthusiasts to an evening of conversation with rally star Neil Simpson as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
The event will be held on Tuesday, February 11, at the Lonsdale Club on Fulwood Hall Lane, Fulwood. Admission is free, with the show starting at 8pm prompt.
Former Volkswagen works driver Neil is managing director of Simpsons Skoda, Preston, and will bring an ex-European Championship winning Skoda Fabia S2000 rally machine.
The car will star in a programme of events kicking off with the Legend Fireplaces North West Stages, based at Blackpool, on Friday and Saturday, February 7 and 8.
The evening with Neil is part of Garstang and Preston Motor Club’s celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the old Preston Automobile Club, which merged with Garstang Motor Club several years ago.
Garstang and Preston Motor Club chairman Steve Kenyon said: “We are making an effort to put on special events to mark this special anniversary.
“Having Neil along will hopefully attract people of all ages who may wish to get more into motorsport and possibly join our friendly club.
“We are happy to have as many newcomers join us for the talk by Neil as we can.”
Garstang and Preston Motor Club meets each Tuesday night from 8pm at the Lonsdale Club. It is an active club which annually organises at least one stage rally and one road rally.
