There is the chance to either admire or practice a traditional countryside this Sunday, March 6.
The 2016 Forest of Bowland Hedge Laying Competition takes place at Laneside Farm, West Bradford, between 9am and 3pm.
Held annually, the competition is part of the Lancashire and Westmorland Hedge Laying Association’s Grand Prix calendar and is organised by Lancashire County Council, Ribble Valley Council and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The competition has three classes – championship, novice and open – and attracts both highly skilled practitioners and those new to hedge laying. Anyone interested in having a go themselves, but not quite ready to throw their hat into the ring, can book onto the training session which runs alongside the formal contest. To register or book a place on the training session call Dave Padley on 07860 578558 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
