Hide AdWell it’s coming apart at the seams anyway and will need major maintenance soon, the developer should have to wear the cost bit of course the tax payer will pay again.
Ian Hughes
Good! It has been horrendous. Let’s have the traffic lights back in.
Patricia Swarbrick
I’m glad. It has never been a shared space. Transport has never given way to pedestrians.
Time to fully pedestrianise Fishergate? Many other city centres have managed to pedestrianise their high streets, why not Preston?

Hide AdAs a blind person I never go to Fishergate anymore as it’s too dangerous. It relies on eye contact between driver and pedestrians. But Preston are still going ahead with another one. Why?

Does that mean I can get my fines back that my husband got?
Joany O’Connor
Was a stupid idea in the first place to make it shared.
Jackie Jones
Excellent. Never did work what a waste of money.
Carole Ann Bell
Put the traffic lights back in like it used to be and refund all the drivers who suffered fines because of a stupid idea that was never going to work in the first place.
Joe Taylor
Don’t get me started on that mess up they call the “Shared Space” ..... one of the council’s epic fails in my opinion.

Drivers do not stop for the crossings that are there tactile flooring is there but drivers are too selfish to stop to let people use it.
Chris Davies
The shared space is dangerous, and taking away the pelican crossings on the junctions of the side streets? Slow hand clap for whoever thought that one up. I avoid Preston if I can help it now - as much as I’d like to support businesses, I’d rather shop online rather than play crossing roulette.
Ann Langley
Its hazardous full stop! It seems clear to me that most motorists have no idea what ‘shared space’ means.
