Landslip closes road near major junction of M6 in Preston as council sent to investigate

An emergency lane closure has been put in place from New Hall Lane to the motorway roundabout on Brockholes Brow at junction 31 (Samlesbury Interchange) of the M6.
Soil and tree branches have slipped down the embankment of the southbound lane, causing a partial blockage of the road.

Hide AdMotorists and commuters have been warned there could be delays in the area while the council investigates.
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: "Please be aware of delays to traffic on Brockholes Brow between Preston and the M6 Junction 31.
"An emergency lane closure is in place from New Hall Lane to the motorway roundabout due to a landslip, reducing the road to one lane each way.
"Thanks for your patience while we investigate."
