An inn near Garstang has been honoured with a prestigious award after rave reviews from customers.

The Horns Inn in Churchtown, has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the first time and staff say they are “thrilled” at the result.

Now in its sixth year, this achievement celebrates hospitality businesses that have received outstanding reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year.

Julie Bell, deputy manager at The Horns, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence after working so hard to give our customers the best service we can over the past year. It means so much because it’s based on real reviews from real customers about their experiences with us. We’re now the number one pub restaurant in the area against some stiff competition, and that’s a real motivation to keep doing our very best in the future.”

The Horns, on The Avenue in Churchtown south of Garstang was recently refurbished by a team of designers to create a stylish space in which to unwind and meet-up with friends and family.

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality and quantity of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period.

To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

“With the Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor honours hospitality businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travellers”, said Heather Leisman, Vice President of Industry Marketing, TripAdvisor. “This recognition helps travellers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service.

“TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travellers feel more confident in their booking decisions.”
