Popular characters from the world of TV walked through Knott End and Preesall as part of the villages’ annual gala.
Schools, community clubs and Knott End Golf Club joined the procession, dodging puddles as the parade made its journey from the Esplanade.
Residents had fun spotting their favourite characters, as there was Bugs Bunny, Scooby Doo, Mr Men, Superman, and even a Stig Dalek.
And of course, umbrellas made a prominent feature as the rain came pouring down.
But that didn’t stop the fun, as after the parade, visitors made their way to Lancaster Road playing field, to enjoy a host of activities including Cubbins fun fair, Blackpool Steam, a cowboy shoot-out and musical acts.
There were also scarecrows scattered around the village, dressed as fun TV characters.
A spokesman for the organising committee said: “We are proud of how everyone who came together in rain and more rain to make the gala such a wonderful community event again.
“We are really proud Queen Millie represented us this year and retiring Queen Katy did an incredible job last year.
“Now is a good time to thank all the children, young people, families, friends and organisations who help with the floats, dresses, costumes and on the day to help make our gala special.
Villagers took to Facebook to express their delight at how well the event went.
Dave Hall, who attended the parade with his Foden Wagon, said: “I want to say a big thank you to everyone. We enjoyed a great day again this year and the weather didn’t stop us.
“Roll on next year or see you all at Staining Gala on July 24, where I will be heading the parade with my Foden Wagon.”
Leanne Kemp posted: “Can’t believe how great our community is. Absolutely chucked it down for Preesall gala but loads of people turned up. Now we’ve dried out it’s time to enjoy the rides.”
