WEATHER: Sun set to shine on Saturday

The heatwave is set to be washed away but the sun is still set to shine in Lancashire on Saturday.

Storms are set to rage across the county once again tonight but according to the MET office the black skies are set to fade back to sky blue.

Lancashire fire and rescue service tweeted a storm warning earlier today.

They said: “We are expecting some potentially severe storms over night - unplug before bed and check your surface water drains are clear.”

The storm showers are set to linger on Saturday morning but the MET office say the North West should be basking in some warm sunny spells later in the day.

The county is set to hit a high of 23°C but Preston’s temperature is predicted to peak at 21°C at 1pm, Blackpool is expected to hit a maximum of 20°C at lunchtime whilst Chorley is set to have one of the highest temperatures in the North West hitting 23°C between 4pm-6pm.

A spokesman for the MET office said: “Saturday is a cloudy start with patchy rain soon clearing the north.

“It should be dry thereafter with warm sunny spells developing, staying fine into the evening.

“But it will be breezy near the coast. The maximum temperature is set to reach 23°C.”

And the MET office warned that the sunshine is set to fade yet again after Sunday.

A spokesman said: The outlook is increasingly breezy on Sunday with sunny spells and a few showers.

“There will be a drier to start Monday but it is expected to be cloudier, with rain from the west later in the day.

“It is expected to be breezy on Tuesday with scattered showers.”
