Friday will start the weekend off as it means to go on - with dry spells and overcast skies, proving for a dull and grey weekend ahead.

There are chances of some light drizzle this evening, March 19, before another overcast day tomorrow, Saturday, March 20 and highs of 10 degrees celsius.

And Sunday will remain much the same, with cloud all day and possible chances of sunny spells with highs of nine or 10 degrees celsius.

An overcast start, with some mist and hill fog. Remaining rather cloudy throughout, with further drizzle or light rain likely. A few brighter spells in western Cumbria. Mild in the west, cooler elsewhere. It is set to stay rather cloudy overnight, with only Cumbria likely to receive any clear spells during the evening and before dawn.

Saturday, March 20

A dry and generally cloudy day. Any bright spells confined mostly to the north and still a slight chance of drizzle. Turning breezy during the evening.

Sunday, March 21 into the new week

Cloudy on Sunday, turning breezier into next week and staying generally cloudy with further chiefly light rain at times.
