Ladies of the Lancashire Federation of the WI are promising ‘a grand day out’ for this year’s county show.
Hundreds of visitors are expected to turn out at Garstang Country House Hotel and Golf Club for the two-day show, held on September 21 and 22.
Organisers have been overwhelmed by this year’s interest, which has seen a record 3,087 entries across the craft and produce classes.
It follows a surge in the number of new institutes opening across the county, with 18 new groups in the past year. Lancashire WI county show spokesman Pam Wade said there was much excitement about this year’s event.
She said: “We have been amazed with the response for this year’s event - judging is starting earlier this year just to get through all the entries. Our theme is ‘a grand day out’ and it will be a very interesting two days, which we’re sure visitors will enjoy.”
Doors open 10am - 9pm on Wednesday, 10am - 6pm on Thursday.
