Woman and her dog rescued from the sea
Morecambe’s RNLI volunteer lifeboat and rescue hovercraft crews were requested by the coastguard after the pair got into difficulty in Bolton le Sands.
Crew members from the inshore lifeboat, were first on scene near Mill Lane and they waded to the woman, who was by now up to her knees in water, before assisting her and her dog into the hovercraft.

Hide AdThe incident happened at 12.30pm and volunteer hovercraft crew then transferred them both to the shore at Redbank where an ambulance crew was waiting for them.
The Air Ambulance and members of the local coastguard team were also in attendance.
Morecambe RNLI Lifeboat operations manager, Kevin Jackson, said: “This incident proves just how easy it is to get caught out by the tide and we urge people to check the times and height of tides before walking out onto the shore.”
