Lancaster fm fc 0
Garstang fm fc 1
Garstang were under pressure right from the start but similar to last week they have found a strong back four to absorb all that is thrown at them.
Against the run of play Garstang won a corner and James Simpson floated in a great delivery for Ian Mackean to head home.
Garstang offered very little more in the first half as the game was being fought in the middle of the park with Elliot Cooper and Johnny Leach working hard to keep Garstang ahead.
The second half replicated the first with Garstang’s defence working overtime. Ferocious tackling from Joe Collinson and Shaun Thornton cost them when the latter gave away a disputed penalty but the penalty was saved by the ever impressive keeper Michael Firth.
Although without creating many chances Garstang seemed comfortable defending and snuffing out anything Lancaster could offer.
Next week’s game is at home to Longton 2pm at Catterall.
