Garstang FC have announced the latest additions to Lee Baker’s backroom staff at The Riverside.

After a thorough recruitment process, the club has named Simon Bentham as their new reserve team manager.

He will be assisted by Hugh Sneddon.

Bentham has been playing at Fulwood Amateurs and has coached at Preston North End as well as in the United States of America.

He said of his appointment: “I am delighted at the opportunity to manage at this fantastic club.

“It’s a huge step for me but a challenge I am relishing.

“I enjoyed my time at Fulwood but I am looking forward to getting my teeth into pre-season at a club that is moving forward.”

The announcement came as Baker’s team returned to pre-season training at the start of the week.

A first training session was held on Monday evening with another due to take place on Thursday night.

The club has also staged a second trial for next season’s youth team which will be overseen by Steve Smith, another recent addition to the club’s staff.
