Garstang FC 1
Two goals in the last eight minutes denied Garstang a share of the points at the Riverside.
There was not much to choose between both sides in the first half, Garstang reducing Eagley to mainly long range efforts whil the home team created the better chances.
Anderson dropped s free kick into Gierke’s feet in the box and his shot went narrowly wide, and then a good run by Melling saw the ball break for Anderso and his shot was fumbled away by keeper Raynor.
Garstang finished the half on top. Melling, again with another good run, fed the ball to Gierke and his cross was touched away to safety as Anderson looked to head home.
Eagley started the second half like they meant business. Morris brought a good save out of Brindle before giving the visitors the lead in the 49th minute.
Yearsley too easily evaded tackles before shooting wide and Helliwell brought a good save out of Raynor in the Eagley goal. Then a cross from Anderson missed everyone as Garstang fought hard to get back into the game.
Benson and Canbupa replaced Sutcliffe and Louth on 70 minutes and it was not long before Garstang had drawn level. At a corner, the referree spotted a push and Gierke dispatched the penalty in style.
With 11 minutes to go it was on the cards that Garstang could go on to win the game, but it was not to be.
Bell was adjudged to have brought down Carr in the box and the Eagley substitute picked himself up and slotted home the penalty. Bell was booked for hotly disputing the decision. With four minutes to go and Garstang desperately pushing forward for an equaliser, Eagley’s second substitute, Cover, scored a third.
