There was further frustration for Garstang Football Club on a Saturday after their match with league strugglers Fulwood Amateurs was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Garstang have now had their last eight games postponed in the West Lancashire League, their last game was a 3-2 win at Thornton Cleveleys on December 14.
Iain Swan’s side instead played out a 4-4 friendly draw with Wyre Villa last weekend on the 3G with the manager playing 90 minutes himself.
On Saturday February 15 both first and second teams are away, the first at Eagley in the Richardson Cup and the second at Thornton Cleveleys in a West Lancashire Reserve League Division One fixture.
The following week the side are set to travel to second-placed Fleetwood Hesketh.
Garstang first team currently sit in 13th place with 23 points but will be hoping to push for a stronger league position.
Off the field the club were blessed with a little more success when on the February 1 at the Wyrebank Suite a Comedy Night was held to boost club funds.
In the first half of the evening Garstang Football Club’s version of “Play Your Cards Right”set the tone for the night, the break included a quality hot pot super before the entertainment began in the shape of Norman Prince and Josh Daniels who both provided a magnificent evening of mirth for the 130 people who attended the event.
A Club spokesman said: “The evening did give us something to talk about, football wise you tend to lose some momentum when one game after another is called off which creates even more expense for us.
“We were all delighted with how the evening went, the Wyrebank is a great room, the food was good and the entertainment was first class and we were able to put a worthwhile amount of money into the club funds”
