Mill Hill arrived at The Riverside with only nine players due to being let down en route by a couple of no shows, so what was always going to be a tough game for the bottom of the table side became mission impossible.

To their credit the visitors held out for 18 minutes before Dan Sutcliff’s hopeful punt into the box was dropped over the line by the unfortunate Davies in goal.

After that the floodgates opened, an Andy Ireland free kick, a well worked goal by Swindlehurst and a brace from Phil Roskell made the half time score 5-0.

Garstang showed no mercy in the second half, with Swindlehurst completing his hat trick, Tom Graham also scoring a hat trick, Mark Kippax and an Andy Taylor penalty making the final score 12-0.

Three points, a vastly improved goal difference, no bookings or injuries and some finishing
practice were the positives that could be taken from the game.

Team: Dan Curwen, Phil Roskell, Dan Sutcliff, Joe Miller, Jack Swindlehurst, John Baldwin, Andy Ireland, Andy Taylor (capt), Tom Graham, Oscar Panepinto, Adam Roskell.

Subs Mark Kippax (for A Roskell 45), Paul Southward (for Ireland 59), Dave Porter (for Miller 67)
