Iversen, signed on loan from Leicester City, replaced Connor Ripley in goal - Ripley having played in last week's FA Cup defeat at Wycombe.

Midfielder Whiteman came straight into the side after his £1.5m signing from Doncaster Rovers on Thursday.

Jayson Molumby was named on the bench after starting the Wycombe game, while there was a place among the substitutes too for Ched Evans.

Whiteman was set to partner skipper Alan Browne in midfield, with Daniel Johnson further ahead of them.

Scott Sinclair returned after a hamstring strain, with Tom Barkhuizen resuming after a spell of self-isolation.

The side showed 10 changes from the Wycombe game, Andrew Hughes the only survivor in the starting XI.
