Stoke City boss Alex Neil says his side certainly don't fear Preston North End

PNE make the trip to Stoke for the first time since Neil was appointed the Potters boss, although they have played before since he took over.

In the reverse fixture Stoke won 2-0 at Deepdale and Ryan Lowe's side go into the game out of form having lost their last three games.

Monday’s hosts however have only won one of their last five and were beaten by table topping Burnley on Friday.

It left the Potters in 17th after the game, with North End two places above them and four points. Despite being so low in the table, Stoke are just two wins away from the top six, PNE only two points – and eight places.

For Neil, the most important thing going into the game is that his side keeps their concentration as he believes his side fears no one in this division, and there is no good time to play any side.

He said: “I don't think you can say that about anybody in this league, in my opinion, because the results are so mixed. Everybody is beating everybody.

"What you have got is two, maybe three teams that are better than everybody in the league and then it's a shootout amongst everybody else. I think there is very little between a lot of the other teams and it depends how you perform on the day.

"If we perform well, I think we're more than capable of beating Preston like we did last time. Equally, if we're underperforming and make stupid mistakes, like any game you're capable of losing.

"We need to make sure our concentration levels in those key moments in the game are spot on and if we do that, we give ourselves a great chance.

"We're not scared of anybody and I think you could see that against Burnley, we didn't go out and sit behind the ball.

"We went to try and attack the game the best we could and I think the lads did really well. We certainly won't be fearful of Preston or anybody else.”
