‘Wolfie’ is on the mend

Garstang FC have announced that keeper “Wolfie” (Mark Thornley) is at home safe and sound.

Last Saturday’s match was abandoned seven minutes in after keeper Thornley was knocked unconscious in their match against Hesketh Bank.

However the club have reported that he “is in great spirits” despite being “a bit battered and bruised” and is hoping to be around next week.

Replacing “Wolfie” between the posts this Saturday will be Jim Brindle who played earlier in the season at Fleetwood Hesketh.

Skipper “Gaz” Fawcett who was the victim of a serious injury at Eagley two weeks ago will also hopefully be back alongside Leon Gierke this weekend in their match against Vickerstown in the Rich Cup.
