The competition was held at the English Institute of Sport, in Sheffield, and consisted of five events – the 60m hurdles, shot putt, high jump, long jump and 800m.

The Garstang Community Academy competed with great effort and determination to produce three personal best in three events.

In the long jump she jumped a personal best of 5.20m, a massive improvement on last year’s leap of 4.86m. She also improved her shot putt from 8.40m to 9.59m and bettered her best high jump mark by 3cm to 153m.

These personal bests kept her in a top-three position for most of the competition.

Going in to the last event – the 800m race, Jolly was positioned in third place to scoop the title.

She ran a decent time of two minutes and 24 seconds in the 800m race to give her the victory.

The scores were: Jolly (3,397 points), Iris Oliarnyk (3,258) and Kiera Bainsfair (3228).
