Despite gaining a significant number of sets by default, Garstang Tennis Club have done more than enough to seal promotion to division three of the Ribble League.
By beating Longton 12 sets to nil in their last match of the season a few weeks ago, not only did they seal promotion but they were also promoted as champions.
A club spokesman said: “For a relatively small club such as Garstang to gain promotion two seasons running is an excellent achievement.
“A lot of the credit must go to Annie Collinson and Sarah Hall for not only organising the team but for creating a really good team spirit.
“Good experienced players such as Philip Garrett, Lisa Hawkins, Nick Grundy and Alice Robinson undoubtedly helped but one or two young, and up and coming players, such as Tom Osborn and Issy Thompson, provide a bit of promise for the future.”
