Brilliant exhibition on President’s Day

Whitechapel and Inglewhite Bowling Club’s President’s Day was held on Saturday, July 20.

President Ted Dewhurst welcomed guests and members to watch eight ladies and eight men compete for the individual singles trophy’s.

All the competitors rose to the occasion to provided a display of exhibition bowling in brilliant sunshine.

Betty Slater won the Ladies Single Trophy, runner up was Dorothy Stackhouse.

The Men’s Singles Trophy was won by Neil Airy, the men’s runner up being Phil McDade.

After the presentation of trophies, Ted escorted his guest, Elswick Bowling club president Kath Cowell, friends and members to the village hall for a buffet tea.
