SportsReach held their ninth inter-church netball tournament at Garstang High School recently.

Eighteen teams entered the junior, novice or main tournament.

Around 200 men, women and children gathered to play or support their team.

Teams competed from all over Lancashire.

The junior and novice games were played in the morning with a break at lunch to hear the gospel message from Suzanne Smith and to award the trophies before proceeding in the afternoon with the main tournament section.

The junior winners were Garstang Young Stars who beat Westhouse Warriors in the final.

The novice final was played between Garstang New Stars and Brookhouse, with Garstang winning.

Two pools were drawn for the afternoon’s main tournament.

Teams played each other in 20 minute matches until eventually after semi-finals, Garstang All Stars and Chipping TopCats were left in the final for the third year running.

Garstang All Stars finally won.

This was a great game by both teams.

Organisers would like to thank all the excellent umpires and many more helpers who worked hard to make the day run smoothly.
