Vickerstown won 4 – 3 on penalties.
After witnessing “The Best 45 Minutes” since taking over manager Neil Crossley was left fuming at the way his side shipped two second half goals that led to a penalty shoot out exit.
The game began at a frantic pace with Garstang looking the more threatening side. On 19 mins a corner by Gierke was met full on by Fawcett heading Garstang into a 19th minute lead. On 35 mins Garstang scored a second goal from another Gierke corner whose kick to the near post found Taylor, his shot was blocked but Crossley was on hand to poke the ball home to make it 0 – 2.
It wasn’t long before Vickerstown pulled a goal back when a mix up allowed Keenan to nip in to make it 1 – 2 in the 63rd min. Matters became worse, the Garstang defence were left playing statutes when Keenan was left unmarked to make it 2 – 2 two minutes later.
