Olympian Rob Bale presented prizes at Garstang Swimming Club’s annual presentation night at Garstang Golf Club on Saturday.

Rob, who represented Great Britain in the 2012 Olympic Games in the 200m freestyle relay, presented trophies, medals and certificates.

During 2012 Garstang Gators teams competed in the North Lancashire Sub League and Micro League, fielding teams of swimmers from the age of nine upwards, to compete against other swim clubs from across the county.

The Sub League team did brilliantly winning two out of their four galas, and the younger Micro League teams produced some fantastic swims.

In addition, swimmers representing Garstang attended several other swim meets and achieved more than 100 Personal Bests, 42 medals and eight speeding tickets at the galas.

At Saturday’s presentation evening Rob presented club members with medals and certificates for competing and / or earning personal best times, and trophies were also presented to the following children:

The club is always looking for swimmers to join the club,they welcome children from pre-school age upwards to learn to swim, train, keep fit, and/or compete. There is coaching for beginners to experienced swimmers.
