THE talented Dillon sisters both claimed titles in the table tennis championships held in Blackpool at the weekend.
Megan and Alice Dillon competed in the Blackpool 1 Star Tournament, with Megan winning the Cadet Girls event, whilst Alice was busy claiming the Under 11’s Girls title.
Megan pulled off a double triumph also winning the Under 13’s Girls event.
Also in action were the Garstang club’s Amy Wells and Kelly Southward representing Lancashire at Derby
Wells won four out of her six matches while Southward struggled after her return from injury losing all four of her fixtures.
In the Preston League Premier Division the A team suffered their first defeat of the season going down 7-3 to a strong Riverside A team; In Division One the B team of Mike Armishaw, Adam Soar and Rebecca Hodgson stepped up their promotion chances with a 10-0 thrashing of Riverside D.
Garstang B suffered defeat in their two league matches of the Lancaster and Morecambe Premier Division, firstly losing out to Trimpell Bulldogs 30-3 and then later in the week a close encounter with St Lukes B saw them lose 21-16.
Both Tommy Kennedy and Mike Charters claimed three wins each, to keep the D Team top of the table in Division One and they teamed up to take the doubles.
The team secured a 21-13 win over Morecambe High School.
This weekend sees the start of the schools competition with four teams from Garstang Community Academy, and a team from Garstang Community Primary School making the trip to Blackburn on Saturday for the first round.
