Teams hit £2,000 bullseye
The new season for Garstang Charity Darts and Dominoes League gets underway tonight, and new players are always welcome.
A belated presentation night for the 2012-13 season was held at the Crown Hotel, Garstang, on August 14, when all the teams were entertained by a comedian, followed by supper and the presentations.
The year’s darts league cup winners were the Shireshead team, who also won the combined league and the knock-out cup.
Darts league runners-up were the King’s Arms, and darts knockout runners-up were the Patten Arms.
The dominoes league was won by the Crown Hotel, runners-up being the Brockholes Arms.
The Sam Carr domino knockout cup was won by the British Legion and runners-up were the Green Man.
The Garstang Truck Bodies darts individual winner was Andy Alcock of the Green Man, losing finalist being Ian Sharples of the Kings Arms.
The Charrington’s pairs dominoes cup winners were Stuart Archer and Steve Garth of the Wheatsheaf, and the losing finalists were Ian Swindlehurst and T Simpson, of the Patten Arms.
During the year, teams raised funds for charity and £2,000 was shared between 10 local good causes.
