IN the Preston League, Martin Wyatt, playing for Garstang for the first time this season, is looking like a fantastic signing after once-again remaining unbeaten.

Playing for Garstang A, who were taking on URCL, he dispatched Barry Mason with ease, before then doing the same to Tony Boasman. He then sealed the evening with a fantastic victory over Bolton champion Ronnie Pennington. Team-mate Graham Coupe did exactly the same to claim another three points for Garstang, and the pair teamed up to win the doubles and a superb 7-3 victory.

The B team had a harder time, going down 9-1 Riverside A, Chris Knowles claimed the only point.

In the Lancaster League, it was the final week of cup action before league fixtures start this week. Garstang A lost out to Trimpell 5-1, but the scoreline flattered Trimpell, as both Rebecca Hodgson and Luke McGrath narrowly lost out to Ray Carr, and Rebecca McGrath was unlucky to lose out to Carl Stebbing.

The remaining Garstang team in the cup, the D team of Thomas Gorst, Joseph Peat and Kevin Aughton, lost to Morecambe High School 5-4

In the first league fixtures this week, Garstang A have a tough home fixture against Trimpell Bulldogs, while in Division One, Garstang B are away at Trimpell Dragons. Garstang C play at St Lukes C, and Garstang D have a home tie with St Lukes D.
