International smash hit musical Six , that sees the Tudor Queens of Henry VIII turn pop princesses in a re imagining of their story will take to the historic stage of Blackpool's Opera House this summer.

The multi award-winning,'boundary-pushing, genre-redefining’ production arrives in Blackpool for a four-night run as part of a major UK tour on July 7.

And Winter Gardens boss Michael Williams said the musical would be 'fantastic addition' to the programme ahead of the venue's highly anticipated reopening in May.

"The smash hit show has wowed audiences across the globe and gained a loyal and devoted fan base, it’s a fantastic addition to our reopening line-up which is fast becoming an exciting mix of events that will appeal to a wide range of audiences.”

In this re-telling of the tale of Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr - the Queen's take to the mic in a series of rap battles, ballads and catchy dance anthems.

The 80 minute show is a rebellious remix of 500 years of historical heartbreak into 21st century girl power. The soundtrack has proven a global success with the songs having been streamed more than 100 million times.

Tickets for the Blackpool show start at £20 and will be on sale from tomorrow Friday 26 March at 10am.

Michael Williams, Winter Gardens Blackpool Managing Director, said “We are delighted to announce that SIX, will head to Blackpool this July.

The show was written by Cambridge University friends Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss and made its Fringe debut in 2016 before moving to the Arts Theatre in London’s West End in August 2018.
