Historic setting for Great British Food Festival

The elegant historic Stonyhurst College near Clitheroe, hosts the Great British Food Festival.

The event is from 10:30am to 5pm this Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

The recipe for the weekend includes over 80 top local producers, a huge serving of hot fresh food and bars, add a dash of craft and gift stalls, served with lots of activities and rides for the kids, and Artisan Foodie talks.

On top of all that, there are demos from local and regional chefs including Simon Rimmer.

Simon became known for the ingenious vegetarian dishes of his Manchester restaurant Greens, which opened in 1990.

He has since appeared in and presented many BBC programmes, and is most famous for the TV series Something for the Weekend.

The Festival has attracted plenty of producers showcasing the best in local, seasonal and speciality food and drink. It’s a fantastic opportunity to sample, enjoy and buy Lancashire produce.
