Three pubs, four days, one Pat

The Greyfriar in Friargate, Preston, The Leyland Lion in Hough Lane, Leyland and the Sir Henry Tate in New Market Street, Chorley are hosting their St Patrick’s Day celebrations over four days from Friday March 14 to Monday March 17.

They will be serving Two Brewers Irish Stout, a collaborative brew between Cormac O’Dwyer of the Dungarven Brewery in County Waterford in the Republic of Ireland and Fergus Fitzgerald of Adnams Brewery in Suffolk. The beer has been brewed exclusively for Wetherspoon pubs.

The jet black stout (4.4 per cent abv) packs a “toasted vanilla and coffee aroma with a slightly nutty character and dry finish” and will cost from £1.85 to £2.20 a pint.

Additionally, pubs will be reducing the price of a pint of Guinness on Monday March 17.

The Greyfriar manager, Bradley Hollingsworth, said: “We’re celebrating St Patrick’s Day in style, starting on Friday in the lead up to the day itself.
