Firework and pyrotechnics experts from China will be hoping to impress audiences with their dazzling displays at the Blackpool International Fireworks Competition this weekend.
Fireworks will light up the skies above the seaside resort on Friday evening, with the Chinese competitors renowned for their colourful displays.
The spectacular free displays will take place over the next three weekends. The Irish kicked off proceedings last week.
The fireworks are set to music and are launched from the beach and the best viewing positions are along the Promenade.
The build up starts at 7.30pm with first ignition at 8.30pm.
The event is subject to weather and may be re located further up the Promenade or postponed in the event of adverse conditions.
On Friday September 20 the French team will fire-up their own entry before the close of the competition on September 27. The Illuminations switch on this Friday September 13 will be 7.45pm till midnight.
