County churches’ mammoth event this weekend

This weekend sees the Church of England’s great, free Summer Festival weekend taking place at Arnold KEQM School at Lytham St Annes with thousands are expected to be there, including many from churches and schools across the county.

On Saturday there are activities from exhibitions and resources to praise and worship as well as a football cage, bouncy castle, rodeo sheep and climbing wall and a massive Messy Church event.

A giant open-air Diocesan Eucharist service will be led by the Bishop of Blackburn, the Rt Rev Julian Henderson and in the evening a Christian music gig features Chip Kendall.

On Sunday the focus is on an evangelistic mission event with Pilgrim Praise and a Pilgrim Walk.

Amongst the schools and colleges taking part are Goosnargh Oliverson’s; Ripley St Thomas, Lancaster and Cardinal Newman College, Preston.
