Fish and camp at Thornley

Thornley Community Space, who are raising funds to renovate the old Thornley School, have several events planned.

First up is a Family Fishing Weekend at Little Town Lakes this weekend.

It is an opportunity to try out the new lakes at Bedlam Lane, Thornley prior to opening.

This promises great fun for families .

You can take your own tents, fish for carp, bream, tench and perch and camp over - £15 per day per peg allows one adult and two under-16s. There is a barbecue on Saturday night and bacon butties Sunday morning. Places are limited.

The Great Thornley Bake-Off and Summer Garden Party is on June 22 at Lee House Church with plenty of baking categories to enter. All entries must be in by 1pm on the day and entry forms by June 15.

Guest judge is Farmhouse Fare’s Helen Colley.

All old school photos and memorabilia will be on display and everyone is welcome.

Another date for the diary is Fashion Show on July 18 at Ferrari’s.
