Thousands of people flocked to the fourth Whittingham Beer and Sausage Festival, which has been hailed a massive success.

Growing each year, this year’s festival boasted more than 70 different beers, lagers and ciders, plus five of the north west’s top bands.

The festival is jointly staged by The Rotary Club of Longridge and North Preston and Whittingham Sports and Social Club, the workforce also including wives, friends and neighbours of members.

Rotary community spokeperson Jack Giddins said he wished to thank main sponsor Taylor Wimpey, also Longridge Scaffolding, Green Leaf Travel and Ribble Farm Fayre, as well all who helped to make the event possible in any way, too numerous to mention them all by name.

“Finally, a very big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event and we hope to see you all again next year,” said Mr Giggins, adding that all funds raised go to worthy causes.
