To celebrate 40 years since its first appearance at the Royal Court Theatre, and becoming “the world’s favourite rock ‘n’ roll musical”, Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show is filling a whole week in Manchester with events in and around the Palace Theatre.
On Wednesday, the actual 40th Anniversary of its first appearance, the production will be celebrating with a party night that will include celebrity guests, past cast members and a message from someone special.
Throughout the run – from Monday to Saturday – fans can also enjoy a wide range of events, and to celebrate the fact The Rocky Horror Show started in 1973 and has been a global phenomenon for 40 years, tickets for the whole week are either £19.73 or £40.
The cult show – a homage to B movies – tells the story of Brad and his fiancée Janet, two squeaky clean college kids who meet Dr Frank ‘n’ Furter by chance when their car breaks down near his castle en route to visit their former college professor.
