Three times Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading is stopping off at The Grand in Lancaster this summer as part of a UK tour.
Long acclaimed as one of Britain’s finest female artists, with a body of work that has stood the test of time, Joan’s career has spanned 42 years, in which she has produced 18 albums and recorded a plethora of well known songs.
This will be her final major tour, where for the first time she will be performing solo, with a piano and guitar.
For almost two hours the 64-year-old Caribbean-born musician will hold the stage, travelling through her career’s songbook, utilising various guitars (and playing techniques) and a piano.
She will be sharing some of the highlights of the last four decades and giving the audience a glimpse of her world.
The iconic star said: “I will never retire but this will be the last major tour that I will undertake.
“For the first time these concerts will be me solo on stage playing the guitar and piano and singing.
“I want these concerts to be a special lively interactive one to one experience.
“I have absolutely enjoyed the last 42 years of performances but now, with my final major tour, I want to capture a unique memory for both myself and the audience.”
The show takes place on Saturday August 15 at 7.30pm and tickets are now on sale.
Tickets are £29.50, available from the Grand Box Office on 01524 64695.
