Starsailor frontman James Walsh is set to return to the North-West in December, as part of an eight-date tour touting his debut solo album.
The Chorley-born and bred 33-year-old, now based between London and Ballymena, gets back to his roots with dates in Liverpool (Kazimier, December 2) and Manchester (Ruby Lounge, December 3) as he kick-stars a short tour ending just over a fortnight later with dates in Dublin and Belfast.
Walsh was the singer and main songwriter in Starsailor, who have sold more than three million albums since the release of their 2001 debut album Love is Here.
Along the way, they picked up a large following via their recorded output and the live circuit, including support slots with The Rolling Stones, The Police, U2 and The Killers.
Now he’s set to release his debut solo album, and said: “The songs have been pouring out of me. I feel much more like a singer-songwriter now, living it and breathing it.”
The result is being released via Pledge Music, with various packages available and five per cent of profits going to the Brain Tumour charity.
