One of the fastest growing choirs in the north of England is bringing its repertoire to Longridge shortly.
The Lakes Gospel Choir, which is based at Bowness-on-Windermere, will be bringing its inspirational programme to the town’s St Paul’s Church a week today, Saturday, October 17.
A choir spokesperson said: “A number of soloists, real life stories and testimonials help to make our concerts a memorable evening of entertainment and celebration. We share a passion and commitment for the music that is so powerful and real that it is impacting and changing lives.”
The community choir is a registered charity and is run by volunteers. Although it is Christian in ethos and foundation, non-Christians are welcome to join to enjoy the common joy of singing and the experience of its message.
The choir’s growth is not just in numbers, but increasingly in its ministry of worship in song and its reputation for excellence in performing gospel songs made famous by the award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
It has performed at many churches and venue halls throughout Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire. It attracts requests for performances from a large geographical area.
Doors open at 6.15pm for the evening of music at St Paul’s Church, with the concert commencing at 7pm. Tickets cost £6 (under 16s free) and are available by calling 07875276394 or from St Paul’s after church services.
