Garstang Theatre Group is celebrating after being nominated for three National Operatic and Dramatic Association North West Region annual awards.
Secretary Terry Underdown said: “We’re over the moon about this.
“We have been nominated for Best Pantomime – Aladdin; Best Play – Fawlty Towers (pictured) and Best Artistic Direction of a Play – Steve Dobson for Fawlty Towers. A lot of hard work and determination goes into these productions and we would like to thank all concerned in making them so successful.
“It’s now fingers crossed until the NODA awards evening at the Hilton Hotel, Blackpool on May 5, when the final winners are announced.”
He added: “At the moment the group is having a rest, although we are going to do a concert for some of the senior citizen residential homes, plus the Leonard Cheshire home.
“We are also planning our pantomime for November this year, plus I am in the process of securing our musical production for Spring 2014 so it’s busy.”
The group usually presents a panto and a musical each year. “We are not a large group, but our members are keen and very capable,” said Terry.
“We design and make our own scenery (for which we have won awards) in fact the only thing we hire are costumes and specialist lighting.”
