Classic Northern theatre with a twist

Following the critical success of Little Shop of Horrors, the King’s Arms Theatre in Salford’s next big in-house event is Mashed Up North.

Mashed Up North gives ambitious directors the chance to get their teeth into classic works and mould them.

This inaugural season includes Noel Coward’s Design for Living (February, 5-8) shifting the work to a new viewpoint.

Bill Naughton’s Spring and Port Wine (February 12-15) is relocated to a part of the world where the weight of its politics and morals alters almost beyond recognition.

And Rose Biggin’s Victor Frankenstein (Feb 19-22) sees a fresh adaptation of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein by injecting a truly shocking twist.
