Theatre company Ribcaged Productions bring their take on the Bard’s classic tragedy of Macbeth to Clitheroe Grand Theatre for two performances this week.

Their version of the
fabled “Scottish play” visits the
theatre first tomorrow,
Saturday, June 15, for an afternoon show for which doors open at 2pm with the actors onstage at 2.30pm.

Then they return to the York Street theatre three days later on Tuesday, June 18 for an evening performance with doors at 7pm and curtain up at 7.30pm.

The Ribcaged company have a fine reputation for presenting Shakespeare at the Grand, having brought his great romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet to the theatre last year and having also performed one of his great comedies, Much Ado About Nothing, there in 2008.

But Macbeth is widely recognised as one of our greatest English playwrights most commanding works, a study of a ruthless man and of absolute power and the absolute corruption it engenders

Tickets for both performances are still on sale, priced at £12 for adults and £6 for concessions or children aged under 16.

They are available by calling the Grand Theatre’s box office on (01200) 421599.
