After great success last year with “Red Riding Hood” and “Storm in a Teacup”, Horse + Bamboo returns to the Grand Theatre, Blackpool, with a magical show brimming with amazing things to look at, great storytelling and wonderful characters.

“The Nightingale” is an enchanting blend of puppetry, storytelling and magic.

In this production a selfish king replaces his melodic songbird with an all mod-cons mechanical gizmo – then wonders if something is missing from his life.

This age-old story from Hans Christian Andersen is told through a mesmerising blend of masks, puppetry, animation, vivid performance and original music.

Horse+ Bamboo was founded in 1978 and is renowned for making theatre that is fantastically visual.

The company is based in Rossendale and tours nationally and internationally.

Horse + Bamboo Theatre make visual theatre in which music and story-telling is central; the company uses masks, movement, puppetry, film and lighting in their productions.

Actors from Horse + Bamboo are available to visit local schools which make a booking to see the performance of “The Nightingale” at The Grand.

Children will be introduced to the unique theatre style of Horse + Bamboo, learn about the mesmerising story and meet some of the magical characters.

This classic tale will brought to stunning life at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool, from Wednesday, February 27, to Thursday, February 28.
